Eternal Beauty

There's a something about her. Like her cousins, she discriminates no one. But, thats not what makes her endearing. The color she adds is just a layer to her deep character. No fanfare from the skies to announce her arrival. Yet when you see her for the first time, the child in you comes out. You spread your palm out and you want to sense her touch. You look up and she graces your nose tip. You smile. She's won you over. The longer she stays, the more she shapes your life. You sled on a hill that she's decorated, and your friends never miss a chance to remind you of her abundance. Little men with circular bodies, pointed noses and disproportionate arms are parading her designs on every lawn. Your ears are cold, the tip of your nose red, socks wet , fingers numb and yet you feel her warmth. This innocence that she brings is so subtle that you can miss it. It's a fleeting moment, when her beauty encompasses you. She goes about entering your life so quietly,so silently. As you are sledding down the hill and you come to a stop, you heart is beating, your breath is short but your mind is calm, without any noise. The silence she creates, brings you to where you are now. Past, future nothing matters. And thats what makes her, Snow, beautiful and charming.

  1. My favorite line is "She's won you over" and ofcourse the snowmen "parading her designs on every lawn." The best part of snow for me is when the flakes fall on your glove and you see how intricate the pattern of the snowflake is. Sigh - Nature~
